Health Insurance & Drug Benefits
ACES has made available the resources you need to become knowledgeable in selecting an individual health insurance plan that protects you and your family. We offer our employees excellent health plan by Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Alabama for the employee and family if needed. Blue Cross Blue Shield health insurance coverage begins on the first day of the month following the start of an assignment. Continued eligibility must be maintained if you decide to enroll at a later date. Continued benefits are based on fulfilling your contractual agreement or commitment. Enrollment has time limitations and requires immediate completion and return of all requested information as instructed. There will be a monthly premium that will be payroll deducted at the beginning of every month for single and family coverage or we can usually work this into the package. If you fail to work the contracted number of hours or for short-term breaks between assignments, monthly premium payments must be made to ACES to maintain uninterrupted coverage.
Dental insurance is an available option through Blue Cross Blue Shield. Please refer to the appropriate links above for more details and the plan summary guides.
The BCBS Dental plan coverage begins on the first day of the month following the assignment start date. Enrollment applications must be completed and returned prior to dental eligibility. This will be deducted through our weekly payroll deductions. Group Vision Insurance
ACES offers excellent vision plans through VSP. Our plan provides annual eye exams every 12 months and a large allowance for contact lenses; frames and lens every 24 months. Please contact your recruiter or the benefits department for specific details for individual or family coverage and rates.
Group Life Insurance
A $50,000 accidental life insurance policy is provided for you during your contracted assignment at NO cost to you. In addition, we have other voluntary Life insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment coverage options to meet everyone’s specific needs. In addition to employee coverage, you can elect to enroll your family members as well.
SIMPLE-IRA Retirement Program
We offer a Simple-IRA retirement program with a company match. There are eligibility specific eligibility requirements. Please ask your recruiter or our benefit department for more information.
College Savings Plan
ACES offers a college savings plan that allows you to save pre-tax dollars and invest them for your children’s future. A 529 College Savings Plan allows you to take control of your investment. This money can be utilized at most accredited colleges and universities nationwide. The earnings can be utilized for tuition, housing, books, and other education related expenses.
ACES conforms to state wage and hour regulations and laws with respect to overtime wages. ACES recognizes the following Holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. Holiday pay is time and one-half for those working a holiday shift. Most holiday shifts begin at 2300 on the eve and end at 2259 on the day of the holiday, but assignments vary so check with your recruiter on the specific holiday shift schedules. Some assignments may pay double-time as hospital contract allows.
Payroll is generated weekly. The pay week generally begins with the 7:00am shift on Sunday and ends the following Sunday at 6:59am. Payday is the following Friday. Payroll weeks may differ as facility pay cycles differ.
Timesheets are due by 10am CST EVERY Monday by email or fax. No text timesheets will be accepted. Please fax all timesheets to 866-864-8630 or email the completed signed timesheet by you the traveler and the supervisor or facility representative to your recruiter. Please follow up with a phone call or text to verify we have received your timesheet especially if you have transmission difficulties.
Please note all overtime MUST be approved and initialed and all breaks are encouraged to be taken. Please follow specific facility guidelines on clocking in and out and overtime requirements. Please notate “call” or “cancelled” if cancelled please document by whom.
TIMESHEETS TURNED IN AFTER THE DEADLINE WILL NOT BE PAID UNTIL THE NEXT PAYROLL THE FOLLOWING WEEK.
Direct Deposit / Live Check
ACES offers direct deposit of your payroll funds electronically into your bank account. This eliminates the possibility of lost checks in the mail. Enrollment may take 2 pay cycles to become active. You may also choose to have a live check mailed to your temporary location. You may view your payroll statements online through the ABRA employee portal.
ACES Rewards Referral Bonus
Beginning August 1, 2018 ACES is proud to unveil our new ACES REWARDS PROGRAM. Become an ACES recruiter, start referring new travel candidates today and earn a referral bonus of $2500.00. You must collect all four ACES cards to receive a referral bonus of $2500.00. To collect an ace card from your recruiter you must refer a new candidate that has never applied with ACES before. Many of our assignments offer completion or extension bonuses; however, each traveler’s package is customized to meet your specific needs in relation to housing, transportation, insurance, and travel stipends. Ask your recruiter today!
ACES will assist you in obtaining licensure in the state that you will be working by providing the necessary information to you to obtain a license. Reimbursements will be made for the cost of the license after completion of the assignment in that state. You must have the appropriate receipts for the state license and fingerprints submitting copies with the completed ACES expense report to your recruiter within 30 days of the completion of the assignment.
Employees of ACES are eligible for CEU programs at no charge when sponsored by the company. ACES will sponsor several seminars throughout the year to assist you with achieving your CEU requirements. Housing, Accommodations & Transportation
ACES offers first class housing options on every assignment. We provide all housing needs assuring a comfortable home away from home. All housing is convenient and in a desirable location. ACES realizes housing preferences are different and will try to accommodate individual needs. Housing stipends are also available for those who choose to secure their own housing. Airfare or mileage reimbursement is provided to and from each assignment as contract and budget allows or a stipend is available for those choosing to drive their personal vehicle. Transportation may also be provided during the course of the assignment. Please check with your recruiter and travel team member as this may vary depending on the assignment, location, and availability.
